Description: The Engineering Research Complex building has a demand for new additional office space located in close proximity to the Energy and Automotive Research Lab (EARL). The enclosure of the walkway, now connecting the two buildings, will provide a permanent connection and increase opportunities for collaborative research between both departments.
The Engineering Research Complex is located immediately south of the Clinical Center in the south Academic District. This project involves the addition of 1,260 gross square feet of office space between the south end of the Engineering Research Complex and the northeast end of EARL. The existing covered walkway between EARL and the Engineering Research Complex, will become a double-loaded corridor containing 12 new offices.
Timeline: Construction began in September 2009 and was substantially complete in March 2010, with final completion in March 2011.
