Description: The Harrison Road Reconstruction project provided much-needed improvements to the roadway in the form of upgrades and additions. The project included: Intermittent curb and drive approach replacement, sidewalk and sidewalk ramp improvements, minor storm and sanitary sewer replacement, and a newly paved asphalt road surface. A new water main was also added, replacing the 6-inch and 10-inch current mains with a 16-inch main. The new main has related valves and fire hydrants installed. The lane configurations of Harrison Road remained the same.
Construction took place two phases between Trowbridge Road and Kalamazoo Street, with the existing pavement being pulverized and some base removal and replacement. For more information, visit the City of East Lansing’s construction website.
Timeline: Construction began in early June and was completed by mid-August 2010. The project resumed in summer 2011 for Phase III.
