Holden Hall — Life Safety System Upgrades

Completed: April 2010

Holden Hall - Life Safety System Upgrades

Holden Hall - Life Safety System Upgrades

Description: Holden Hall is located on the southwest corner of Wilson and Chestnut Roads in the Residential District. This project involved the installation of new sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and other code-required life safety system upgrades in the living spaces. It also included the installation of a new emergency lighting and electrical substation for the fire pump. Life safety systems in the common areas of Holden Hall were upgraded to current standards during the summer 2008 renovations. Systems throughout the remainder of the building need to be upgraded to these same standards.

Timeline: Construction started in March 2009, and was substantially completed in August 2009, with final completion in February 2010.
