Tree Improvements around Demonstration Field

Description: The goal of this project is to restore Demonstration Field to its original layout design and beautify the area. Norway Maples that currently line the field will be removed and replaced by Sienna Glen Maples. The project will remove a total of 13 Norway Maple trees and add 23 Sienna Glen Maple trees.

In an effort to Be Spartan Green, wood chips from the removed trees will be recycled and burned at MSU’s power plant.

Timeline: Work began in May 2010 and was completed in September 2010.

Impacts to pedestrians, bikers, motorists: The project will cause minor traffic and pedestrian disruptions as the removals and plantings occur.
