Description: This projects run along the drive between the
Physical Plant and Landscape Services, between the MSU Police building and the Oyer Speech and Hearing Building from Chestnut Road east to Red Cedar Road in the Central Academic District. This project involves the repair, waterproofing and replacement of steam vaults, anchors, expansion joints and valves. A water main loop will be installed to increase fire hydrant flow capacity, an electrical duct bank, and a communication duct line for fiber optic distribution. Also, this project will correct the road and safety issues.
The MSU Police parking lot will be rebuilt with porous asphalt as a storm water control tool. The project will also reconfigure the Physical Plant parking lot to allow standard parking and lane widths, and reconfigure traffic flow for safety.
Timeline: Construction began in February 2010 and was be substantially complete in October 2010, with final completion in October 2011.
